About the Nexus 2 Seater Fabric Sofa Bed, Made to Order
The Nexus is a British-made 2 seater sofa bed from Buoyant Upholstery, ordered in the fabric and colour you choose. At 170cm wide, it's a compact sofa bed for a spare room or small lounge, with a straightforward fold-out mechanism for occasional guests.
The frame is hardwood and composite board with dowelled, screwed, glued and stapled joints, and the seat and back cushions are reversible so they wear evenly. The photos show it in Costa Putty. Because it's made to order, please check your chosen size and fabric carefully before ordering.

Caring for fabric
Vacuum weekly with a soft brush. Blot spills straight away with a clean, damp cloth — don't rub. For bigger marks use a water-based upholstery cleaner and test it on a hidden area first. Turn and plump loose cushions regularly so they wear evenly.

Is the Nexus suitable as an everyday bed?
No. It's designed for occasional guest use, with a fold-out mechanism, rather than nightly sleeping.
What fabrics can I choose for the Nexus?
Any fabric from the Buoyant range. The photos show Costa Putty. Ask us for swatches if you'd like to see options before ordering.
How wide is the Nexus sofa bed?
170cm wide, 90cm high and 86cm deep.
Can I cancel a Nexus order?
Not once it's in production, because it's made to your chosen fabric. Please double-check the options before you order.
Are the cushions reversible?
Yes. Both the foam seat cushions and the fibre back cushions can be turned to even out wear.
Will it fit through my door?
Measure the narrowest doorway on the way to the room, inside the frame, and compare it with the smallest dimension in the specifications. Most UK internal doors are 76 to 83 cm. If it's close, ring us before you order — we deliver into terraces, flats and farmhouses every week and will tell you honestly.
Can I change the fabric or colour?
On made-to-order ranges, yes — usually from dozens of fabrics, which you can see and feel in the showroom or ask us to post as swatches. Ex-display and in-stock pieces are sold as they are.
Do you deliver, and is it really free?
Yes. Delivery is free to any address on the UK mainland, into the room you want it in, by our own two-person team who take the packaging away. We ring you to book a day. We don't deliver to islands or anywhere that needs a sea crossing, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

Where do you deliver, and what does it cost?
Delivery is free to any address on the UK mainland: England, Wales and Scotland, including the Scottish Highlands. We don't deliver anywhere that needs a ferry or sea crossing, so we can't take orders for Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, the Scottish islands or the Channel Islands. If you're not sure whether your address is covered, call us on 01709 376633 before you order.
How long will it take?
For this piece: 6–8 weeks. We give you a realistic timescale when you order, not an optimistic one, and we ring to book the delivery day once it's ready.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
In-stock and ex-display pieces: you can cancel within 24 hours of placing your order for a full refund to your original payment method. Ex-display furniture is sold as seen, so please check its condition before you buy.
Made to order: anything you choose a fabric or leather for (three or more swatch options) is made specifically for you, so it can't be cancelled or returned once it's in production. Double-check your size and colour before you pay, or call 01709 376633 the same day if you need to change something.
Faulty or damaged: tell us straight away with your order number, photos and the delivery date and we'll put it right with the manufacturer. That's your statutory right and nothing above affects it. Full details: cancellations and returns policy.
What does the guarantee cover?
This range comes with the manufacturer's guarantee for this range, which we'll confirm before you order. It covers manufacturing faults in the frame and construction, not accidental damage or normal wear such as cushions softening. We'll confirm the exact terms for your order before you buy.
How do I pay?
Pay in full by card, use Shop Pay for a quick checkout, or choose Klarna at checkout to split the cost. In the showroom, leave a 20% deposit to secure your order and pay the balance any time before delivery.
Can I see it before I buy?
Many of our ranges are on display at our Parkgate showroom in Rotherham, open seven days — where a range is on the floor, the product page says "See it in person" in the details section. Sit on it, feel the fabric and check the size against something real. No commission, no pressure.
