Will it Fit
Nothing spoils a delivery day like a sofa that won't go through the door. Five minutes with a tape measure avoids it. Here's exactly what to measure, and how to compare it with the sizes on our product pages.

1. Measure the room
Measure the wall the sofa will sit against and note anything in the way: radiators, sockets, window sills and door swings. Allow at least 60 cm of walking space in front of the sofa and 45 cm between the sofa and a coffee table. For a corner sofa, measure both walls. For a recliner, add 25–30 cm behind it unless it's a wall-hugger.
2. Measure the route in
Work backwards from the room to the street and measure every opening the sofa has to pass through:
- Front door — width of the opening with the door fully open, and height.
- Hallway — width, and the size of any turn. A tight 90° turn is the most common problem.
- Internal doors — width and height, plus the wall space either side of the frame.
- Stairs — width, headroom, and any half-landing.
- Windows — if the room is upstairs and the stairs are tight, a large window can be an alternative route.
3. Compare with the sofa's dimensions
Product pages list width, depth and height. The key figure for getting through a door is the sofa's diagonal depth: with the sofa on its end, the distance from the top of the back to the front of the seat, measured diagonally. As a rule of thumb, if the door opening is wider than the sofa's height or its diagonal depth, it will go in. Feet on many ranges unscrew, which takes 8–12 cm off the height.
4. Corner and modular sofas
These arrive in sections, so the largest single piece is what you need to check — normally the corner unit or the chaise. Ask us for the piece sizes on the range you're considering; we have them for every corner sofa we sell.

Frequently asked questions
My door is 75 cm wide. Will a 3 seater fit?
Almost certainly. Most sofas are under 75 cm tall with the feet removed, so they go through on their side. Check the diagonal depth if the hallway has a tight turn.
Do the feet come off?
On most ranges, yes — they unscrew. Ask us for the range you are considering.
What if it will not fit?
Tell us before you order and we will suggest a range that arrives in smaller sections, or a modular sofa that goes in piece by piece.
