The right parasol for the set
A parasol is bought last and used most. Match it to the set: a cantilever for lounging, a centre-pole for dining, and a base heavy enough for a Yorkshire breeze.
Cantilever parasols (3m and larger) hang the canopy from an offset arm so nothing is in the way of the furniture; they tilt and rotate to follow the sun. Table parasols drop through the hole in a dining table and are the easiest to store. Bases range from fillable plastic to granite and cross-base weights.
Size and weight
A 3m parasol shades a four-seat corner set; a 3.5m one covers six-seat dining. A cantilever needs a base of 60kg or more; a table parasol in a dining table needs 15–25kg.
Looking after it
Close it in wind, dry it before storing, and use the cover. Canopies are replaceable on most of our ranges.
