About the Douglas Grey Fabric Recliner Sofa Collection, Electric or Manual
The Douglas is a grey fabric recliner sofa that lets you decide how much to spend on the mechanism. Every size comes as a manual recliner or an electric recliner in the same cosy grey fabric, so a 3 seater electric with a manual 2 seater is a perfectly good combination.
Its wide footrests stand out from most recliners, and the deep-filled cushions give it a soft, sink-in sit. Underneath, pocket springs with foam and Dacron fibre support the seat, and the fibre-filled backs are shaped for lumbar support. Widths run from 103cm for the chair to 160cm and 200cm for the two sofas.
Key features
- Electric or manual recliner sofa: Pick the mechanism for each piece; the look and the fabric are the same.
- Grey fabric recliner: A soft, cosy grey that works with most living room colours.
- Wide footrests: Broader than usual, so your feet stay supported when you recline.
- Pocket sprung seats: Springs under foam and Dacron fibre keep the deep cushions supportive.
- Lumbar support: Fibre-filled back cushions shaped to support the lower back.
Caring for fabric
Vacuum weekly with a soft brush. Blot spills straight away with a clean, damp cloth — don't rub. For bigger marks use a water-based upholstery cleaner and test it on a hidden area first. Turn and plump loose cushions regularly so they wear evenly.

Questions people ask before ordering
What's the difference between the electric and manual Douglas?
The electric version reclines with a button and needs a socket. The manual version uses a handle. Both have the same frame, fabric and cushions.
Can I mix electric and manual pieces?
Yes. Many customers choose an electric 3 seater with a manual chair or 2 seater.
How wide are the Douglas sofas?
The 3 seater is 200cm, the 2 seater 160cm and the chair 103cm. All are 99cm deep and 106cm high.
What colour is the Douglas?
Grey fabric, as shown in the photos.
Why are the footrests wider on the Douglas?
They're designed to support your whole lower leg, which feels more stable than a narrow footrest when you're reclined.
Will it fit through my door?
Measure the narrowest doorway on the way to the room, inside the frame, and compare it with the smallest dimension in the specifications. Most UK internal doors are 76 to 83 cm. If it's close, ring us before you order — we deliver into terraces, flats and farmhouses every week and will tell you honestly.
Can I change the fabric or colour?
On made-to-order ranges, yes — usually from dozens of fabrics, which you can see and feel in the showroom or ask us to post as swatches. Ex-display and in-stock pieces are sold as they are.
Do you deliver, and is it really free?
Yes. Delivery is free to any address on the UK mainland, into the room you want it in, by our own two-person team who take the packaging away. We ring you to book a day. We don't deliver to islands or anywhere that needs a sea crossing, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

Where do you deliver, and what does it cost?
Delivery is free to any address on the UK mainland: England, Wales and Scotland, including the Scottish Highlands. We don't deliver anywhere that needs a ferry or sea crossing, so we can't take orders for Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly, the Scottish islands or the Channel Islands. If you're not sure whether your address is covered, call us on 01709 376633 before you order.
How long will it take?
For this piece: 3–4 weeks. We give you a realistic timescale when you order, not an optimistic one, and we ring to book the delivery day once it's ready.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
In-stock and ex-display pieces: you can cancel within 24 hours of placing your order for a full refund to your original payment method. Ex-display furniture is sold as seen, so please check its condition before you buy.
Made to order: anything you choose a fabric or leather for (three or more swatch options) is made specifically for you, so it can't be cancelled or returned once it's in production. Double-check your size and colour before you pay, or call 01709 376633 the same day if you need to change something.
Faulty or damaged: tell us straight away with your order number, photos and the delivery date and we'll put it right with the manufacturer. That's your statutory right and nothing above affects it. Full details: cancellations and returns policy.
What does the guarantee cover?
This range comes with the manufacturer's guarantee for this range, which we'll confirm before you order. It covers manufacturing faults in the frame and construction, not accidental damage or normal wear such as cushions softening. We'll confirm the exact terms for your order before you buy.
How do I pay?
Pay in full by card, use Shop Pay for a quick checkout, or choose Klarna at checkout to split the cost. In the showroom, leave a 20% deposit to secure your order and pay the balance any time before delivery.
Can I see it before I buy?
Many of our ranges are on display at our Parkgate showroom in Rotherham, open seven days — where a range is on the floor, the product page says "See it in person" in the details section. Sit on it, feel the fabric and check the size against something real. No commission, no pressure.
