Rattan Dining Chairs – Care Instructions

Post-Winter Cleaning:
After months under a cover or in storage, your rattan dining chairs may collect dust and dirt. To freshen them up, simply rinse them with a hose and gently clean using a sponge and mild soapy water.

Does Rattan Contract and Expand?
Yes, Homeflair’s rattan furniture is designed to adapt to changing temperatures. In warm weather, the rattan will expand, and in cooler conditions, it will contract back to its original shape. This flexibility is a natural and essential feature that prevents the weave from becoming brittle or snapping during colder months.

Cushion Care

How to Clean Outdoor Cushions:
Our cushions are designed for easy maintenance. Simply hand wash them with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.

Note: Cushions are not machine washable and should not be tumble dried.

Wooden Furniture – Care Instructions

Understanding the Nature of Wood:
Homeflair’s wooden collections—including Bali, Martinique, and Porto—feature a light PU protective coating. However, as wood is a natural material, small cracks and splits may appear over time due to expansion and contraction. These are normal and do not affect the furniture’s structural integrity.

Regular Cleaning:
Keep your wooden furniture clean by wiping it down with a damp cloth regularly. For best results, we recommend using the Homeflair Wood Furniture Cleaning & Protector Kit, specially developed for wooden surfaces.

Seasonal Maintenance:
To prolong the life of your wooden furniture, apply the Homeflair wood protector twice a year:

• Autumn – to prepare for cold, wet weather

• Spring – to protect during warmer months

Avoid Using Covers:
We advise against using covers on wooden furniture. With regular cleaning and proper seasonal maintenance, your furniture will stay in top condition without needing to be covered.

Natural Colour Changes:
Over time, exposure to sunlight and weather may cause untreated wood to change colour. This natural aging process adds a unique character to your furniture. You can slow this process with consistent care and use of wood protectors.
