Does Rattan Expand and Contract?

Yes—rattan used in Homeflair furniture is designed to naturally expand and contract with changes in temperature. In warmer weather, the material will expand slightly and then contract back to its original shape as it cools. This flexible quality prevents the weave from becoming brittle or snapping during cold conditions and is completely normal.
